I have been suffering LLQ pain since January this year. I had an ultrasound which found left adnexa containing a 3.2 x 2.2 x 2.3cm mass. It is inseparable from the uterus. The uterus is 6.7cm long. A 15mm isoechoic fibroid is suggested in the anterior myometrial body. Endometrium is 3mm thick. The pain is getting worse and I am now taking Tramadol ER 200mg. My bloodwork came back with Alpha Feta Protein at 13.7 ug/l (normal range 0.00 - 9.0). My GP seems to think there is nothing to worry about, I have been referred to a Gyny who I see on the 2nd June. I am 58 years old, have taken HRT for 7 years. My question is should I be doing anything more about this? Thank you.

You are correct to step beyond the exam and tests with your GP. These discussions need to be continued with a gynecologist. Ask the gyn about CT Scan and blood tests for various female cancer markers, such as CA125 for ovarian.

Thank you for your reply. I have had a CT scan which showed what the ultrasound showed. I had CA125 which came back normal 11.4 kU/L. I guess I am more worried about the AFP and the fact that the pain is getting increasingly worse seems like each day and now I have pain which tracts across my tummy and into my back.

I have stage 4 ovarian. The disease is well controlled in my abdomen, pelvis and chest but I have had 4 lesions in my brain that they so far have been able to remove with radiation, no side effects. Anyone out there with a similar experience?
