@debbraw

This is great. I loved the progressive relaxation exercise, and I bookmarked the 10 minuted guided imagery. I'm going to try that later - when I have 10 minutes! LOL. Meantime, I had a question, how is the guided imagery different from meditation? Maybe its just shorter? I had trouble understanding the difference between the two categories of Guided Imagery & Visualization vs. Meditation.

That is a good question, @debbraw. I've wondered the same thing. For some reason, these two seem the same to me.

@debbraw I'm so glad you like the progressive muscle relaxation. How did you feel when it was done? I hope you'll try the guided imagery and let us know how that goes. You are not alone in your question about the difference between visualization and meditation! There are definitely similarities. I believe @colleenyoung gives a good explanation and would emphasize that meditation is an ongoing practice. There are also a number of different types of meditation, some of which can have a visualization component, but others may not. I'm tagging our expert, Dr. Pauline Lucas, here in the hopes that she can explain this better. @paulinehlucas are you able to give our readers a better explanation?
