@acid2come Thank you for this post I was wondering how you where doing. Glad to hear you are seeing a infectious Dr on the 15th please let us know what he says. Im sorry your still having trouble breathing Stay safe in these pandemic days we are in . Take care and please post . Praying for you .
Jane you said, “There was no meat, milk, eggs, butter or any other sustainable food to be had. Last week, we were able to buy one chicken.”
WOW! Not even perfectly sustainable potatoes, butternut squash, lentils, whole wheat pasta, brown rice.
It’s been years since I ate any of those foods you consider sustainable. My total cholesterol typically flirts with 150, blood pressure 115/72.
I figure my body has enough to contend with what with MAC and Bronchiectasis. I want to spare it the known deleterious impact of animal flesh and lactation products.
I can’t eat the things you mentioned because they are forbidden on a strict renal diet. Even brown rice is forbidden. I have to limit the amount of potassium and phosphorus in my diet while at the same time get about 35 grams of protein every day. I am in stage 3 of renal failure.
I finally was able to buy eggs and some dairy. I have some good Gulf shrimp for today. Yum!
Jane, I'm also Stage 3 CKD so another something we share in common. We are all in this together, yes?
@acid2come I’m so glad I saw this note! How are you? I’ve missed talking with you. Let me know how you are, please!
Jane, I’m dining on Humble Pie. Maybe by the time I’m 90 I’ll have learned to not start shooting off my mouth before the circumstances of the situation. My apologies for any annoyance or discomfort I might have caused.
