@cindylb, Colorado is beautiful!
We spent our vacation several years ago in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It was at the beginning of the elk rut and the trees were beginning to change color. We even got to hike in some snow and sleet. And last fall we were in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Mesa Verde Natinal Parks. @becsbuddy, I think that the Black Canyon is in your region. Have you been there?

Hello Rosemarya - We live in the 'metro area' of Denver now but my husband and I both grew up in the mountains just south and west of Denver. Growing up here we camped, hiked and spent lots of time in all corners of Colorado. It's a very beautiful place. It was quite small back when I was young and had grown very populated now. Still beautiful but very much more crowded now.....sigh.
