@thankful

@grandmR- I have often sort out your posts because of your incredible transparency and down to earth discussion. I can also put myself on that bench in Hawaii allowing the sunshine, scents and breezes blow across my face. I'm partial to Kauai. You mentioned that saying and it brought me back many years ago when our families were at Disneyworld and my son, who has mental & physical disabilities wouldn't get on a easy ride with all of us. My sister-in-law made this comment to "Ryan, be in the moment"! You know it disarmed his fear and he joined us!
Grandma, we are so.... glad you are part of Mayo Connect and we join you in hoping for crossing off a trip abroad from your bucket list soon!

Hi Jim!
Thank you for such wonderful words!!!!
I am glad you find my posts helpful.
After all, that is why we are here.
I've been to Kauai, too.
It is certainly beautiful, but the frequent rain got to me.
Some day, however, I hope to go back with a new perspective.
I am happy your son was able to disarm his fear and enjoy Disney.
It can be a very overwhelming place.
I remember we took our daughter there many moons ago.
When Mickey walked up to her, I thought she would faint.
She couldn't understand how he was so much bigger than on TV.
When we took our grandchildren for the first time, we were sure to have that discussion with them.

Have a terrific weekend!
Ronnie
