Hello - I am newly diagnosed (May 22, 2018) with ICD 10, Mild Cognitive Impairment. I am curious what the DSM-5 (or other sources) equates a MCI diagnosis in terms of WIAS-IV FSIQ
equivalent. I thank you in advance. Dr. Ron Rubenzer. Former School Psychologist- Columbia University NYC.

Hi Dr. Rubenzer - There is no set FSIQ associated with MCI. And really, it is not a matter of overall intelligence, but a matter of decline in ability in at least one cognitive area: most often memory. So, it is more often a below average performance on at least one memory task, like the Wechsler Memory Scale IV rather than a WAIS. Hope that helps and thanks for the comment!

Thank you Dr. My working memory was very low average on the neuropsych battery , however my vocabulary and similarities (Verbal Comprehension Index) scores remained intact compared to baseline. Do you have any best practices improvement for wmi problems. I thank you in advance. Dr Ron Rubenzer. Former School Psychologist. Columbia University NYC.
