Replies to "Can you live in another state waiting for a heart transplant?"
@77dhowell, I am not qualified to answer that, and everyone's health needs are individualized at Mayo. I had a liver and kidney transplant and my husband and I lived in Rochester MN at the Gift of Life House for 11 weeks due to my individual circumstances. I do know that patients come from all 50 states to be treated and to have transplant surgery at one of the Mayo Campuses. I am attaching the contact information for the heart transplant centers at Mayo. I encourage you to call and discuss your situation with someone in heart transplant dept.
