To: Imatine. I would say yes. I'm 63, not 84, but my doc was injecting Prolia for about one year - then my insurance stopped covering it (of course!) I'm now taking an oral pill, Alendronate, once/week. I've not had any side effects at all. My mom is 88, and she has been receiving Prolia injections for 6 months. She's fine. But I would discuss it with your mom's doctor as everyone is so different.
