I am 76 years old with severe osteoporosis. I have tried two different injection treatments. Evenity is a once a month injection at the doctor's office and I recommend it for fewer side effects. I also tried self injecting Tymlos once a day but found after a week that I didn't like the side effects. Most side effects are severe fatigue and achiness. Both of these are newer drugs. I like not having to go to the doctor for injections, but overall the Evenity seemed to have less negative affects on me. Also, in the 5 months I was on the Evenity before I had a follow-up bone density scan there was significant improvement in my spine bone density. Hip numbers were not as good and I attribute that to the fact that I was not exercising. You have to be sure to get 1200 mg of calcium daily and 4000 mg D3 as well. I didn't want to take all that calcium in supplements so I was eating a lot of yogurt and milk. But then I changed doctors and the new doctor, a rheumatologist recommended Citracal slow release. Two of those capsules gives 1000 mg D3 and 1200 mg calcium. That is much easier.
I recommend that you see a rheumatologist if you have not already.

I think calcium and D3 recommendations are personalized. One size doesnt fit all
