A quality of life gift that I received this year is a new FitBit. A year ago, I gave mine to my mom to try. She was so motivated, I didn't dare ask for it back. For my birthday she gave me a newer model. I've been enjoying the new charge this has given me to keep up my workouts, steps and water intake. I'm enjoying the new energy and better sleeps.

Hello, Colleen. I'm ckg them out, and laptops, at Best Buy later this week if am able. I looking for a FitBit that does what I need but no more and is waterproof! Not too picky, eh? Just don't need a loaded one....anyway, those are the 2 things that I'm getting for me VERY SOON, little gifts to myself. Love it, to have permission to be nice to me. The best...Blessings all, Elizabeth

Now that is a gift that fits as well as one the keeps on gifting. Thanks for sharing @colleenyoung. Appears that both you and your Mom got "quality of life" gifts. Cool.........

Be safe and protected.

@colleenyoung I had a Fitbit Versa before my Apple Watch and for me, the activities that I did were just not tracked well so I returned it (they had a very generous 90 day policy if you bought it on their online site) and got the Apple. I love my watch and it really does goad me on to meet those goals. I went about 190 days of meeting my goals and then couldn't one day before Christmas and since then I have missed two more. I do think exercise trackers help a lot with incentive though. My watch was not tracking my heart rate well (it had it over 200 a few times!) so my son bought me a heart rate tracker that syncs with the apple watch. I have spoken to the Apple people a few times and they called yesterday and said there will be an update that should solve my problem very soon. I have been very impressed with their service.
My first fitness tracker was a Misfit and I loved it but it got sort of wonky as it aged. Their C/S people were great though. Right now I think they are reworking their devices.

Regarding the step count, I can be in the kitchen, working hard, and it will say I haven't moved! I guess your arms have to be swinging for it to be recognized.

@colleenyoung, Good for you for not having the heart to ask for your FitBit back from your motivated mom! Smiles And good for her for giving you a new, improved model for your b.d. Sounds like a great win-win all round!
