Afib and cerebral angiopathy
I was diagnosed with Afib and managed wit adult aspirin daily. Diagnosed with cerebral Angiopathy 2015 after having a hemmorage stroke. Anyone else suffer with similar diagnosis? This puts me in a tight spot, not being able to have blood thinners

Hi @shedwina, I added your question to the Stroke & Cerebrovascular Diseases group as well. @nanatessie also mentioned that she was diagnosed with CAA and is also taking a blood thinner because of having had a valve replacement.
Shedwina, have you talked with your cardiologist about other options to control your A-fib that do not put you at risk for hemorrhages?
Talk with your cardiologist team to see is the Watchman can be put in without having to be on blood thinners. I do not know if they will put in a watchman and use aspirin only. I would think it is possible but only done in very rare situations. I am waiting for my own watchman and I have internal bleeding issues. My GI team only signed on with the condition that my hemoglobin be checked weekly. Hope that helps.
shedwina, research vitamin C especially liposomal vitamin C as it applies to hemmorage stroke. Also check out thiamine and vitamin D as they apply to cerebral angioplathy. Remember, magnesium is required to activate both thiamine and vitamin D. It also prevents platelets from sticking together. The fat soluble form of thiamine Benfotiamine passes through the blood/brain barrier more efficiently than water soluble forms. Finally, look into magnesium, vitamin C & D in addition to thiamine for afib. Always consult your doctor before using any supplement.

Right now we are trying one baby aspirin per day. Thank you so much from your input.
