Your audiologist is your best resource. Some insurances cover a hearing aid and if it is truly a "dead" ear, a cochlear implant is totally covered. If you need any help, there are hearing aid manufacturers that donate a hearing aid free of charge. Good luck sweetie.

Well, earscan, you are a doll! Good information for me. I'll let you know what the docs say and what to do. I know I have hearing loss that's worsening. I also know for some quality of life for me and those around me I need to do something to help. I'd love to understand conversations again, to actually understand the words in the sentences.....not either have no idea what was said or try to guess....I use the text on tv and it does help, but there are problems with it, so it's past time to move this along. I've been addressing other issues for the last few years, putting some things aside while finding answers and solutions for others, like heart, wallking, tremors, breathing, pain, etc. Now, eyes, ears, hernia/gut......on it goes for us all! Thankfully, I'm alive and better than I've been in years. God is Good. Elizabeth
