I am an audioprosthologist and taught physicians and audiologists when I worked for a subsidiary at Siemens. Many of the drugs today cause tinnitus, including aspirin, caffeine, and chemo/radiation. There are tinnitus maskers out there, but relaxing music is effective too, especially if it is on the same frequency, ie. high tones, low tones. Good luck, sweetie!

Thanks, earscan. I have high pitched tones running in my head....mostly from my right ear...that good, relaxing music helps more than anything. In the hospital, I put on the 'calm' channel....(I think?) and relax or go to sleep with it relaxing me and readdressing my attention to something lovely rather than the high, constant crickets. Do the same at home sometimes, with 'soundscape' music channel. That's relaxing music but nothing recognizable. If I recognize it, I think the music and won't sleep at all! I've grown up around classical and other good music, loved pretty much all except loud!!!!bothered me all my life! or rambling, with no purpose. Funny, didn't realize that, but I do need the music to be going somewhere, from somewhere. My right ear also feels like and sounds like it's full all the time, like there's fluid on the eardrum. Doesn't seem to be any there, but something isn't right and hasn't been for many years. So, guess I'll find out soon and WILL let you know. I can't afford a hearing aid the way I know them.....ear buds would be great!!!!! Blessings. Elizabeth
