@hblegen Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.
It sounds like you are unfortunately not alone in believing that vaccines brought out PMR symptoms.
You will notice that I have moved your question to a lively previous discussion.
You'll notice that members like @ste44 @pemagyaltsen @ncgal @legendts @karinaph @artist01 @kristem2020 have discussed this topic in link.
May I ask if you have found anything that helps to reduce PMR symptoms?
I was concerned about getting the COVID booster and flu vaccine due to so many with PMR having issues, but both my rheumatologist and primary wanted me to have them. I recently had both, 1 week apart, and have had no ill effects, not even a sore arm. Grateful.
Hope you are doing better.
Hi @heblegan. Sorry to hear you’ve been struck by by PMR again. I too feel my PMR was induced by a vaccine, shingrix I believe. My sense is that until we have more personalized pharm, well still see these events for a percentage of people.
Back to you, how are you feeling? Are you taking any prednisone?
I too had the Pfizer vaccine ( both doses) and still on Prednisone 8.5 mg and very slowly tapering...
no bad impacts two weeks out.
I wish you the best, again sorry you’re back here at sq one.
