I’ve had epilepsy for 53 years and have only heard of one person who was able to control his seizures through the use of vitamins. He controlled his with the use of B vitamins.
Taking vitamin and mineral supplements aren't the cure-all some people like to believe.
Nutrients your body requires should come from eating a healthy and varied diet whenever possible and not from supplements.
Anticonvulsants deplete a number of vitamins.
Phenobarbitol which I have taken for over 50 years can cause depletion of calcium, folic acid, vitamin D, vitamin K, and biotin. Dilantin can deplete a wide range of nutrients including biotin, calcium, folic acid, vitamin B1, vitamin B12, vitamin D and vitamin K.
Vitamin D speeds up the body's normal breakdown of vitamin D and reduce calcium absorption, so after my test showed I was deficient I started supplementing vitamin D.
It’s believed approximately 50% of people with Epilepsy have a vitamin D deficiency, that’s approximately 32 million people. Have you had yours checked?
I only take a vitamin or mineral if needed. I take iron because of my bi-monthly blood donations to keep my hemoglobin up. I do take B Complex but doubt I need it now that my meat consumption has increased.
Although I don't want to discourage you from trying vitamin therapy, you shouldn't take them indiscriminately, so if you decide to try vitamins for seizure control I hope you do it safely and go to your physician and get his/her approval and correct dosages. Don't think ”if a little bits good a whole lot more is better.”
By the way, what type of seizures do you have?
How are you currently controlling or trying to control your seizures?
Take care,
Jake

But she is going there lots of money wasted on vitamins lots and lots of them
