I would also like to know her reasoning in why the VNS is helping me. Whatever, I cannot afford to replace the battery and pay for it on my own if Cigna does not cover the cost of such a procedure. if it does cover the cost of the procedure I always have a copay with an HMO. That will be too huge for me to afford.
My doctor is just going to have to face the fact that I must go without the VNS. Let her pay for her it if she wants me to have it so badly,

I am in the same boat as well my insurance insurance costs me me way too much already and I thought it was good insurance but I found out that I have to pay a 50% of what isn't covered. Which I most of it. Of course that wasn't really explained when they signed me up for the insurance but after going after going a couple years without insurance and visiting emergency rooms to get my medication I know I should probably have the battery replaced because it's been almost 10 years. I can't say for sure it is working or it isn't working I'm sure I will find out as soon as the battery completely dies.

A lot of these places have financial aid. You might look into what they have to offer. I see this information in every Doctors office I visit.
