@sueinmn, How alarming for the young coworker who not only suffered as a "long hauler" but now is in ICU with multiple embolisms. This horrid virus is nondiscriminatory and reports from others with long continuing after effects of Covid-19 should alert all to the unknown lasting effects. There is still so much unknown and yet there are people who continue to refuse to take simple precautions.

Like you, I'd rather risk the temporary side effects of the covid vaccine than the life threatening danger of contracting the virus.

Update on my daughter's coworker - she is home and recovering. Breathing without supplemental oxygen, and will be at 2 weeks post-hospital and permitted to begin mild exercise this weekend. Like many of the medical workforce long-haulers, it will be a many months before she will be able to return to the rigorous 12 hour hospital shifts.
