The mention above of audiobooks made me smile. Several years ago a friend told me to read some Alexander McCall Smith books. He has written many, maybe dozens of wonderful stories. Many have been translated into over 20 languages. A great many on audiobook I borrowed from our local library. The wonderful thing about audiobooks is the readers consistently pronounce the characters names correctly. :o) It's much easier to follow the story when you can easily keep track of the characters. ;o) A series I especially enjoy is the Ladies Detective Agency. Takes place in Africa and has many hard to pronounce names, streets, etc. so once again, audiobooks is my answer.

Thank you for the suggestion. I was just able to explore your recommendations and found many titles that I think will be great. Audible now has my order and I look forward to some serious escapism into the world of reading. Thank you for the idea of authors.
