Why not just eat fruit that contains high amounts of it. Some people with diabetes may not be familiar with it but know how much fruit they can safely eat.
There are always going to be those people out there who think if a little bits good a whole lot more is better and it's those people who may end up with kidney damage. And then you always have the problem of it not being regulated. But if taken responsibly I agree it is relatively safe.
