Update on my DRG stimulator Implant. Implanted 12 days ago.
Hi all my fellow Neuropathy Warriors, Just wanted to update you on this DRG stimulator in me. Basically, so far, not so good. It seems to help pain in the morning, pain from a 9-10, to about a 5-6, maybe a 4, at times. As the day goes on, pain gets worse. Nights are still bad. Yesterday was the first time I walked outside. I walked around the block twice, and it was wonderful to smell fresh air, use my legs, etc. However, when I came back into my house, I felt like my feet were on fire for a few hours. Another thing that I have noticed in general, is foot exhaustion. Sometimes I feel like I have ran a 35 mile marathon, and that I need endless foot massage. All in all, so far, not real good. Going to my pain doc tomorrow and will also meet my ABBOTT rep there. In hindsight, I really wish I had more good days during the trial of my DRG. I had only 3 improved days; days 7-10, and then, the doc had to remove the DRG due to risk of infection. I wish I had more good sample days!!! I am praying, of course, as my nerves in the lumbar DRG area heal, I will improve. So far, not really worth doing. Saddens me beyond belief. Thank God for Kratom. I just sent my Kratom company a "love letter." I do not know what I would do without that product, and may advocate for Kratom. What the hell! Gotta put my energy into something positive!!! Maybe some chocolate chip icecream, too. Love to each of you, Lori Renee

1 Reaction@jimhd Hi Jim!!!! Thanks for your kind words about my DRG! Yes, it is AWESOME to get some relief. Maybe somewhere down the line, my posts will help you learn about the DRG, and if it might be right for you. It is far from perfect, but I do have relief, for certain. I do hope it will get better with time. Since Neuropathy has weakened my foot muscles, I need to do my foot exercises and get stronger so I am able to walk better. But the pain is not nearly as often or severe. A blessing. A total blessing. Please keep us all informed of up coming decisions and appointments! In the meantime, keep working!!!! I know you do! 2 ReactionsHi all my Neuropathy Warriors! Back to give the latest input on my DRG stimulator. It's not working well, at all. I am still in a lot of pain, and in general, if it continues this way, it was not worth doing. I keep hearing my Doc say that it can take a few months to get it right, but I know they have not gotten it right so far. I can also add some weird leg sensations to the mix, a throbbing lower back where the wires are, general weakness from surgery still. I am due for the Pain Doc on Sept. 1st, and I am sure, the ABBOTT rep will again attempt to adjust electricity. For those of you who are contemplating getting the DRG; Hank's wife, Linda, and Jim.....things to remember; is there always a correlation between a successful DRG trial, and a successful implant? How great is that correlation? I thought I had a successful trial, but so far, it is not translating to the real deal. And do not forget; please have more than 3 days of success at the trial. You need many more to know if it is really working. If I can just help one of you to make an informed decision, than at least, something good has come of this. Love to all of you folks. 2 ReactionsLori, what I don't understand is that early on you had said you were getting a nice bit of relief from pain if I remember correctly. When did it transition to less relief? And was it after a tweaking had occurred? It's just so perplexing! Man I hope it does get back on track for you, I can not make myself believe this is it. You know, maybe it will, as they say, take some time to get it absolutely correct. We are both hoping and praying for this to resolve itself and for you to get back on a pain-relieving keel. Hang in their dear friend, keep your chin up if you can and let's all try to be patient at this point. We are expecting improvement for you with this. With love to you Lori, Hank & Linda
@lorirenee1 I just read this Im so sorry to hear it isnt given the relieve by now Calk your Dr. if your legs give you more problems I dont think those wires should be bothering you
