Thank you. My experience has been with my husband’s Urostomy. One thing they all have in common is the fact that the patient’s body (abdomen) keeps changing shape for a while after the surgery. Every few pounds gained or lost affects how the seal fits the body. Also, if the stoma protrudes then the discharge goes directly into the bag better than a stoma that is flush or even slightly below skin level. If it is recessed then a convex seal or wafer may do a better job. Hopefully someone with an iliostomy will reply and give you some help. Read back through old notes on the website.
