I am really interested in this discussion because I was diagnosed with IBS in early May and have been struggling with what to eat. My gastroenterologist took me completely off of dairy foods because I am lactose intolerant. However, I only drink lactose free milk anyway and always take lactase pills when eating cheese, yogurt, ice cream, etc. Avoiding milk products has not helped. I am having trouble identifying trigger foods.
I am constantly hungry between meals and have lost 4 to 5 pounds. Not good for me as I am ver thin.
Taking half doses of Imodium 3 x during the day has helped me to have fewer “emergency episodes”. There had been 1, 2, or 3 very urgent episodes right after waking in the morning. Has anyone used Rifaxamin?
