Update to this question and coming from my Mayo surgical team: "We do not use transurethral prostatectomy for treatment of prostate cancer as this does not treat the entire prostate."

i thought i was a candidate for this surgery last year, before i was diagnosed. turp surgery is for an enlarged prostate. hope this helps good luck
