Hi @susanbo2457, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. First of all, THANK YOU. Thank you for working in a supermarket during this lockdown and risking your life. I'm sorry that you contracted COVID-19, but am grateful that you are here to tell us about it.

While you've recovered, you mention that you're left with a persistently irritated tongue and a sore on your gum.
I'm tagging other members who have had COVID-19 or a suspected case or a family member who had COVID, like @sueinmn @mkqq @ccbelle @wishercristy @potterylady and @amart22018. They may have had a similar persistent symptom.

Susan, is the sore on your gum like a canker? What have you tried to relieve the irritations in your mouth?

It's possible that it's a canker but I don't think so more like a bump that is sore. I find a canker to be more irritating.
I had implants put in about 5 months ago on the other side of my mouth and am using the mouth wash the surgeon gave me to use, It's called Paroex and it seems to help but slowly.
