@joybringer1 I had an old hand beater like that and never used it. I believe it had belonged to my dear mother-in-law. When my daughter was visiting a while ago she came across it and loved it! So I gave it to her. She loves these older things.
Like @sueinmn, I could not lose my beater either, it's a Hamilton Beach, about the same size as a Kitchenaid.

@joybringer, So enjoyed your post! I don't dare have a bread maker because it would be in constant use and I must keep more veggies than homemade bread on the plates! vbg
Golly, hadn't thought of those "old-time hand beaters" in yrs but Do remember them and they did get the job done. And Yes! just like us seniors, it is pretty amazing at how well some "old things really do still work" ! Maybe with a bit more effort or a bit slower but we're still here and functioning. And..what restraint in only eating two slices smothered in butter..my goodness! Are you trying to put the rest of us to shame? Smiles
@joybringer1 Yup, inability to put my hand on a specific tool led the way to my ongoing cleanout/downsizing effort. We also have at least one working hand beater. It would be quite a trick for my to lose my mixer, though - it is an 18 lb 40 year old KitchenAid.
Quite a few years ago, when we added a cabinet to our kitchen, we made a baking station with a built in appliance garage - wired and with a roll down door. Mixer, blender, toaster, utensils and can opener all hidden away in one place, all the sugars, flours, spices housed above, and the baking pans below. I never imagined I would have such a luxury in my own home.
