@lilyoaws, Good morning and a big non-hug welcome to the joint replacement group on Connect. Somehow you got a double dose of depression and anxiety. As if that wasn't enough, you had to find a good home for your dog. That was a sucker punch to me. I lost my final Cavalier just as I was beginning to wonder if I would be able to care for her after my last surgery. Perhaps she gave me the ultimate gift. I am still grieving and have set up a small altar. Maybe I shouldn't have done that. It does make me smile as I walk by.
Would you please share your side effects from Tymlos. Evidently the clinicians wanted to do everything possible to make sure your bones would be strong enough through the surgery delay. Was that the reason for 6 weeks? I am starting month 10 of 18 months of Tymlos Injections.
Is your replacement a hip? I am not sure from reading the post about what surgery was scheduled. What else have you been doing to remain comfortable while waiting? I also do puzzles on my computer. I like the ones with bright colors, interesting streets, and boats.
What would make your waiting time easier? Let me know and I will see if I have a magic wand for you. To start, may I suggest yoga stretches and mindful meditation. My sangha does Zoom yoga on Tuesdays and then a meditation on Thursdays. We have been together for several years and have bonded with the best super glue for similar souls.
May you be safe and protected and free of suffering.
Chris
Thank you for your nice reply. It was good to set up an altar. I buried part of my first dog ashes under a stone that said my Beloved Dog. I still have the rest of her ashes and when Lily goes I'll probably put some of her ashes under the stone, but the rest of their ashes will be put in my ashes when I pass. Sounds a little far out. Huh? Give yourself time to grieve and if you are able and want to get another older dog, not a puppy.
I can't do yoga, but do pray a lot and l listen to Christian Music while I do my puzzles on the computer. I like to do animals.
I will be having a fusion on my low back from T-10 to my pelvis. It's a big surgery, but I'm looking forward to having it. I have degeneration which has caused a scoliosis and my l-4, l-5, and S-1 has stenosis. I can't go for walks or do Yoga and just standing hurts.
I have pain in my right hip (scoliosis is on the right side) down my buttocks and sciatica down my right leg. I also have pain in my right leg. You wanted to know my side effect on the Tymlos. Light headed, headache, fatigued, sometimes upper stomach pain. My endocrinolgist may have to change it. I am to be on it for 2 years.
Many Blessings and free of pain,
Jeanie
