Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

Back on to the subject of visual escapes. Yesterday I drove to my dermatologist, to have sutures removed after a procedure two weeks ago. Because I was driving, had no dashcam, and wouldn't try to take a picture while driving, you'll have to read the picture.

Here in Oregon, things are blooming. Big time. And all shades of green abound! The center medium of the interstate, has bunches and spreads of wild poppies. The brilliant hunter orange of the flowers contrasts with the darker shades of green that make up the leaves. In between the bouquets, there might be some browning grass [we been having a warm and dry spell recently], or some wild blackberries starting their yearly growth. Trees are setting blooms of white or light pink flowers [no idea what kind they are, doesn't matter, they are gorgeous!], while the evergreen pines create a punctuation mark of hunter green. During the winter months, you can see the houses that are normally hidden by leafed-out trees. Now they are retreating into their backgrounds with the coming Spring.
