Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Mar 16, 2020

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

By contrast to Dana's summer like photo. This is what greeted us yesterday morning. One thing we can be sure of living in the Northern Plains, is weather unpredictability. Thankfully I really enjoy all four seasons.

@grandpabob Beautiful, I love the look of the snow in the bright sunshine but then there's the shoveling I guess unless you need to go somewhere just sit an enjoy.

Hi! I just started a course on Coursera offered by the University of Toronto. It deals with anxiety and coping with the stress brought on by COVID-19. I highly recommend this to others. There is no fee for this course so no excuse not to enroll.

@iamkaren Here is the website for the course you are speaking about. It's worth a look see, and probably would be good to have it in the anxiety discussion for COVID-19, also.

My daughter had tumor removed from her brain. It was tested and found to have, " MGMT Promoter Methylation" . Does that mean I carry this or(logic) my wife carries.

Be safe and protected.

@bookysue, MR Word is a great game. To really win big you have to get a lot of double words. Thanks again. I have a new game.
May you have a lovely sleep tonight.
