@imallears, I laughing out loud!! Yes! Both bone and blood meal are sold and used for fertilizing bulbs. No vampires met personally (thank the skies!!) Mary, but I've learned the hard way that although squirrels leave my daffodils, day lilies, iris and hyacinth bulbs alone, they still dig like crazy around these bulbs/tubers after I've spread the powdered bone or blood meals.

Oops, @imallears, @ lioness, Just reread the earlier post about bone/blood meal and meant to say that squirrels cause most damage to tulips bulbs. They leave the others intact. Scattered puts it mildly for my early morning posts!
