@imallears, @fiesty76, @becsbuddy, @artist01... Fl Mary, sounds like you've lived in sunny south for a while, probably have good, white sand between your toes now instead of icey snow! Glad you enjoy life in Fl. I do, too, but do get tired of the humidity when it's really hot. Don't breath so well then, so AC is my friends. BUT, even love I love the snow, not the ice and I couldn't survive in the cold, would have to stay inside there too.....POOH! Love them both, but body rebeles and you listen.
Hope your walking snakes aren't rattlers, more the black or green or garden variety. Anyway, most are scared of you more unless you threaten them. Previous home backed up to a lovely creek that flows into the St. Johns River. In the woods and shared space, sort of, with moccasins. They aren't afraid of anything and are very aggressive! Don't like them at all.....had one in back of my condo, thought he was a small baby dying.....started to p/u w/stick and he became very alive, opened his white cotton mouth and attacked me! Summer, I was in sandals and shorts and totally unprepared....I ran faster since he was hurt.
Not a snake person, but rattlers do taste good.
Mary, it's hot today! 81, sunny and beautiful. Going for little walks with my hot pink walker....will report in. Won't be long as it's too hot for me. blessings, enjoy this life! elizabeth

I never did learn my different snakes but I know enough not to go out on the lawn with sandals or bare feet like my grandkids still do ( all young adults). ... and not to leave wet shoes outside like my son in law does.
I usually try to go out before 7 in this weather but I am still getting up an hour later because of the time change. Cooler weather coming this weekend.
I would be further North in Fl or somewhere between here and NY if I had a choice. I find the humidity exhausting and don’t understand how my family can play tennis in that weather. I attribute my aversion to age because we all use to lay on the beach oiled up back in the day. Now I hop from shady place to shady place and cross streets back and forth lol. Lord I hate to sweat!

@ess77, Like you, Elizabeth, I am so glad I experienced heavy snow laden climes when much younger, more limber and unafraid of snow and ice!

Now, I am awed by the hardiness of our walkers who continue to brave those frigid temps despite snow and ice! High humidity is a tough nut for me as well. If added to heat, it makes me feel like I am trying to walk through ocean waves. My lungs cry out for relief from the added strain.

My childhood friend and I were going for a swim in her dad's large cattle tank when we saw a snake in the water. Terrified, we scrambled out and ran as fast as we could to her dad. One cotton mouthed rattler less but there was no mention of having it for dinner. I've been frightened of snakes ever since.

Smile every time I think of you strolling with your trend setting walker, Elizabeth. You and @imallears will soon be posting photos of your new lovely FL tans, yes?
