Hi,
Stay in and walk around your house. My grandfather many years ago in Chicago took his walker outside, and fell in the snow and broke a hip. My good friend called me yesterday and said her 96 year old dad fell on the sidewalk in light snow and was in emergency surgery for a broken hip.
Seniors need to be especially careful.
Glad I’m in California.

Hello California Girl @funcountess! Yes, I definitely won't venture outside as long as the snow or ice prevail. I'm 85 now and I hear of so many seniors who have suffered broken hips in snow conditions. We've got enough problems! Thanks for your words of caution. Always good to hear them again. Warm regards, Laurie

@funcountess Yesterday I went down to the fairgrounds in next county south, for my 2nd vaccine shot. Three weeks ago it was snowing and sleety rain, and we had to stand outside waiting to get into the fair building. They used 3 different ones [paperwork, actual shot, waiting time] Usually, my cane stays in the car, but really glad I had it along. I put on lug soled hiking boots for added traction. And canvas pants. Yesterday, once again it was cold rain, and I dressed the same. For those who were pushing me along between buildings, it was a simple "if you want to walk around me, go for it! I'm watching the footing, and not slipping" Good to see the staff were watching everyone to make sure there were no accidents!

Good idea, @funcountess! A neighbor called laughing after she "witnessed" me backing my car out of garage and down driveway to retrieve mail from my curbside mailbox. Always happy to provide a smile!
