@loribmt
I’m going to drive around my intended route first and see exactly how far it is, but it’s probably like what our parents did when they had to walk somewhere. 20 miles in a -50 degree blizzard in 10 foot deep snow zero visibility without shoes or a coat and without breakfast and had to milk the cows, slop the hogs, chop some wood, bring in the crops, paint the barn & on & on & on. I doubt any of them ever actually made it to school. I’m even more surprised any of those people lived to have kids to tell how hard they had it.
Take care Lori,
Jake

@jakedduck1 Ok, I’m absolutely laughing out loud with your story! This could have been a dinner conversation at my childhood home! My parents were in their 40s when I was born so there actually was a bit of validity to ‘some’ of their stories! Not sure if they were meant to motivate me or garner appreciation for their endurance. Either way, I still had to walk to school!!! Remember when you start out on a long walk, you still have that return trek! 😉 Lori

@jakedduck1, Big Congrats on checking the mileage around your intended route...laughing...did you then get out of the car and take some steps on your own??? Really glad to hear you'll be "stepping out to join us walker/cizers".. Will there be a couple of candybars in your pockets for added stimulus? I'm not about to walk for distance, just for a set number of minutes and still working to increase those by 5 mins ever so often. Hope you'll let us know about your first completed walk-a-thon. My first was making it around our very long block. Yup, those stories of parents' early feats make me wonder if they were part of my Texas Tall Tale Clan??? Smiles

@jakedduck1 HI Leonard! Just checking in on you to see if you got sidetracked on your way to school! How long is that new walking circuit? Brrrr, where I live, walking won’t be outside today. It truly IS the proverbial minus 22 degrees, trudging through deep snow, blinding sun... I’m a tough old bird but -40 windchill still manages to get through my down parka! I’d really like to check on the game cams as I see interesting tracks on the snow. But that requires snowshoes as the drifts are waist high to get to the cams. (Uphill both ways, LOL ) Were you able to get out walking the past few days? Even if it’s not to the school and back. We have to keep movin’
I see @fiesty76 is checking in on you too. See, inquiring minds want to know. Haha
