Hi,
Jacksonville was chosen, way way up north from me. I think my energy generally comes from proper eating and sleep, of course, and the daily walk. I drink matcha powder tea before my gym class and that goes a long way because of the caffeine.
I notice on nights that I sleep well that I have more energy the next day but I was indulging in too many complex carbs the last few weeks and that contributes to lower energy for me.

So I went to 2 stores this morning after the walk and after the bank. More people than not were wearing masks but in Target I noticed 2 different woman without...one middle age and one a little younger. Some smaller business state “No mask No entry”
Hope to see more of that. We won’t close in this state but businesses will suffer because of the spike. My beauty salon just sent out an email that masks are now required or they won’t be served. Last time maybe half the customers had masks. I use a disposable one when she is putting color on my oh so gray roots.

So let’s just keep moving and hoping for the best.

FL Mary

I live up in the California mountains with only one incorporated town in the entire county. The gas station on the main road had a sign "locals only" for several weeks as we are flooded in the summer with hunters and fishermen from all over including Arizona and Nevada. Locals are worried about the virus being imported from these "hot spots. Our population doubles in the summer. In town it's a mixed bag with some stores demanding the wearing of masks, others have seniors only hours and some seem to be open as if things were normal. Being old with respiratory issues I'm trying to be careful but sometimes I forget and shake hands with golfers visiting our local golf course from every hot spot in the country. I promptly use hand sanitizer but realize we are all rolling the dice every time we go out. From what I observe it seems that democrats follow our state governors advise, and increasingly forceful command, to wear a mask and republicans seem to follow the president and don't mask up. Social distancing is easier up here as there are fewer people and there are only 9 cases reported in the entire county. I only go to town (population 17,500 and 30 miles away) once a week for groceries on a senior day, where some stores have seniors only hours in the morning, visiting Safeway, Walmart, the local drug store and scurrying back up the mountain to the lake as fast as possible. The 1918 pandemic took a while to reach every where but it did and this one will too. Let's not get complacent as so many seem to be doing. As you mentioned we too have a few stores handing out masks or selling them at the door to encourage their use. Many people are trying their best to follow medical advice and stay safe. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us.

@imallears, Hi, Mary, I am glad to learn you live farther away from where the convention will be held! Interesting that you mentioned that eating more than usual complex carbs seems to lower your energy. I am still badly needing to gain weight after an undiagnosed 30 lb loss over several months so am eating more high calorie laden foods. Think I will reduce those for a week or two and see if that improves and extends my daily energy. I've long felt best in the mornings and plan most physical effforts/activities before noon.

i agree that frequent movement and working to keep our spirits up is important to our quality of life, even more so now that many of us are still staying home more than in the past.
