I also read that 7500 steps will give you the same benefits as 10,000 steps. I set my goal to 5000 steps. I always try hard to exceed that if I am physically able to. If I do that Fitbit will give me a thumbs up like "awesome, you exceed your goal by xxxx steps!" that kind of makes me feel motivated.

@mayofeb2020 I too have an activity tracking watch, and it does spur me on. My husband thinks I’m a slave to my watch but whatever it takes is good.
