JK. I started on prednisone in Jan. of 2016 for an attack on my kidney. I started on 80mg for a long time then had no results so that they gave me mycofenolate along with the prednisone.l maintained this for a year and stopped the mycofenolate because the kidneys responded well to the treatment and during that year they began to titrations the prednisone and in July of 2017 i finally stopped it. But by this time the myopathy was well on is way with my left side most badly affected, my left arm , hand and the leg below the knee. Both feet feels like I am walking on bubble wrap and on Jan.2019 I started to get hip problems. I had an mri in Jan. of this year and it revealed that both hips were beginning to shrivel and I guess dry rot is in process. The worst culprit in this whole affair was the prednisone. Large doses over long time. Only one in a million suffer this hip problem and I have it in both, why couldn’t that be on the lotto

@beachbum80 I am on 5mg a day as part of my immunotherapy. I suspect I will never be off of it because my blood counts are low. That's a shame that you have such a terrible effect on it. I guess they must have really felt you needed it. I wish for your sake that they could have eliminated it sooner.

@patriciao I was just looking on Amazon for disinfecting wipes because the stores are all out of them. I have a few but not nearly enough if I plan to continue to go to the health club. The name brands are out of stock on Amazon too but there is a brand that is available to wipe down surfaces - it says "alcohol-free disinfectant wipes".
I agree with the need to go to stay healthy, I really do need to continue to go to help with my osteoporosis and everything else. As you age it is more and more important to keep your strength. It really is a dilemma though. I am confident that what they have in the gym is a good disinfectant but it will be easier to have my own if I plan to wipe down the equipment before for my own benefit and after as the gym requests. Unfortunately not everyone does wipe the equipment down after using it. Fortunately my health club is a very nice and clean one. There are always people around cleaning everything, but they can't follow members around and clean equipment after each person uses it.
