It will also be helpful to hear about the rehab and your responses to it. One thing I think I can tell you is that my reverse shoulder replacement totally replaced all of my pain. I need to have the same procedure done, but scared to death about the pain, I had rotator cuff repair and it was the worst pain i ever had, now they say i need a reverse shoulder replacement!! please keep us updated on your progress. it would be a great help...hope all goes well and you keep up the good progress......

Reverse shoulder replacement is a type of shoulder replacement in which the normal ball and socket relationship of glenohumeral joint is reversed, creating a more stable joint with a fixed fulcrum, Wikipedia

In a reverse shoulder replacement, the normal ball-and-socket structure is reversed. An artificial ball is attached to the shoulder blade. An artificial socket is attached to the top of the arm bone. The large deltoid muscle that covers the shoulder is typically able to move the arm

That is wonderful for you! I'm told I also need 2 shoulder replacements. Where did you have yours done?

I was supposed to have reverse shoulder replacement surgery, but the MRI showed little arthritis in the shoulder and instead I'm having 1 rotator cuff repaired and two completely severed cuffs replaced with cadaver achilles tendon...and some muscle from my back. It's called Lower Trapezius Tendon Transfer. The recover is longer than reverse replacement, but I'm a tennis player and this should ultimately get me back on the court. Just an FYI. Good luck. My surgery is on the 19th of May.

Good evening @itsally and @starfirey2K. It sure looks like May 19th is coming up for you next week @itsally. Is everything still a go for your Tapezius Tendon Transfer. I hope you get a new tennis racquet for Mother's Day. I am anxious to hear about your progress. Just in case, I am putting you on my "list" to check on.

And @starfirey2k , here is what I wish for you. I wish that you have no more pain or discomfort with your reverse shoulder surgery than I did. If so, then you will do very well. Because I would be alone in recovery, my surgeon came back to my room after his daughter's baseball game and we talked about recuperation, rehab, and pain management. He was and always has been a very attentive surgeon. Even the anesthesiologist joined our discussion. He was checking to make sure he did a good job keeping me without anesthesia side effects.

And then the surprise. My special gal friend drove up the driveway, unloaded her suitcases, jumped in my bed, and stayed a week. We went out to dinner day 2 and then started walking the trails on day 3. I had only one incident, I ran over the railing around the gas pump because I had the mobilizer on. BTW....you cannot drive, at least in CA with a mobilizer.

So.....I am wishing you both to be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
