Prolozone injections
I'm scheduled for a knee replacement on March 10, but just heard about the Prolozone shot. Has anyone had a Prolozone shot, and did you have success?

@janor, Welcome @janor, to Connect. And no I have not had a Prolozone shot. However, I did find some information that may be helpful. It does appear that this treatment is recommended pre-surgery on knees. Let me know if this information is at least knocking on the door. Have you asked your surgeon the purpose of the Prolozone? March 10 isn't far off. When is the shot scheduled?

Prolotherapy for bilateral hamstring tendonitis?

I have bilateral hamstring tendonitis (along with some calcification of the tendon where it meets the ischial tuberosity). I've tried PT with a pelvic floor specialist, acupuncture, steroid injection, chiropractic treatment and soft tissue mobilization (Hawk Grips and Graston Technique). None of those worked, so I have an appointment for a prolotherapy injection at the end of the January. Has anyone had experience with prolotherapy - success or complications?

Thanks!

@lgerkin You will see that I have moved your question into a previous discussion on Prolozone Injections. I did this so you could more quickly connect and get support. You will notice members like @janor @artscaping have already posted information on this topic.
May I ask what your provider has said about the injections?
Thank you! I do believe that prolotherapy is different than prolozone injections. Prolotherapy uses a different solution and has a stronger inflammatory response, which is one of my concerns since I haven't responded to the instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization techniques, in fact, they made the area more irritated. I"m going to follow up with my provider about whether prolozone would be more appropriate though.
I have received and injected arthritic joints with Prolozone as well as Prolotherapy with about 85% success.
Yes, it works very well on tendonitis
Thanks for the feedback! I had a prolotherapy injection in January followed by PT with a pelvic floor specialist and the pain has unfortunately gotten worse. Every therapy that I've tried where the area is irritated in order to create inflammation and spur healing has not worked. The tendons are just not healing. There's no tear in the tendons so surgery would not be appropriate. I have an appointment/consultation with a doctor for PRP injection next month. That's really the last thing traditional medicine has to offer, as far as I can tell.
I have been battling with sacroiliac joint disease for over 17 years. It can be very painful and neagatively impacts my quality of life. I was told there has been success treating SI joint pain with prolozone injections. The problem is I live very rurally in western NY, near the PA border. I have had no luck finding a provider who does prolozone injections, or quite honestly has even heard of them. I’ve looked online for providers as well, but nothing useful has come up in my searches. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to find a provider? Has anyone had this done for SI dysfunction or does anyone have any input when it comes to such injections?
Hello @frdunbar and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I can see you are motivated to explore the option of prolozone injections but seem to be hitting a roadblock with regard to finding someone.
Have you, by chance, asked for a referral?
PRP worked wonders for my daughter's SI joint after 10 years of unsuccessful PT. The effects lasted more than 5 years. Improvement was in 24 hours.
