Kate, I'd feel better using cleaning grade vinegar. We know for sure that kills it. I do not know what percentage of salinity is in the ocean, but mac can be found there as well.

@windwalker ...Thank you Terri!! When you say cleaning grade do you mean the white vinegar off the shelf at the grocery store?
