I am in stage 3 and have kept on a strict renal diet. I eat a delicious meal every day and find it easy to stay on this diet. However, I am paralyzed and got an ulcer (pressure sore) on my tailbone and it got infected when I foolishly went into a public pool for water exercise. I go to a wound care doctor ever week for the past six months and he said that I need to have a high protein diet for wound healing. I have resisted this but now I need to heal this before sepsis sets in. I spend six hours every day lying on my side in the bed so I can take the pressure off of my ulcer. I just want to get better. I have increased my proteins from 35 g to 50 - 60 g.

@darlingtondoll, you surely don't want to invite an environment for sepsis to set in.

Darlington, How are you finding the increase in protein? Has it helped with healing the wound? Do you find some proteins are better than others for you?
