US guided, vacuum-assisted core needle biopsy with 9 passes (# of samples taken). Pathology report in approximately 48 hours. Ice packs and Tylenol tonight but so far no real discomfort.
Biopsy results are Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with tubular features, grade 1. Radiologist says I need to schedule another biopsy on a second smaller mass also in right breast, previously set for 6 month follow up. It was deemed likely benign, but she says now that I have a confirmed malignancy in that breast, it needs a biopsy now. Talking to breast surgeon’s APN about plan today.
