@seniordon09 I face the same dilemma. I know that exercise is a good idea, but I pay for it big time. I only walk when I need to go somewhere. I have to work between winters because our place would deteriorate if I don't stay ahead of the gophers and moles and ground squirrels, and mow the lawns and weed, weed, weed. The orchard and vegetable garden and the many flower beds, along with the house and barn and garage and the rest of our ten acres. I'm extremely grateful to have a good riding mower with a 48" deck. I pull around a small trailer with it - it saves me a lot of steps. Walking just for the fun of it or for the physical benefits is beyond my capability. Each step has to count. Another thing I'm grateful for is a disability placard. Those steps across hard pavement count double on my pain scale.

I have been walking barefoot, and am noticing improvement, especially with balance.
