Dr. Taunton. Excactly the same response that I received. Xrays are fine and nothing more they could do. I too have lost respect for the Mayo Clinic doctors!

I had a partial knee replacement and the pain never went away, After 2 years the Dr. told me that it did not hold and that I needed a total knee replacement that the cement had cracked. My body had rejected the replacement. So I let him do a total knee replacement. The outcome is the same. Pain all the time. So he is sending me to Pain Management for an ablation of the nerves in the knee. He says this will relieve the nerve pain. Xrays show the knee is fine. It is the nerves sending pain signals to my brain. Maybe my brain needs and adjustment??? I will never have another surgery. Doctors messed up my shoulder with 2 surgeries and now want to do another one. No thank you......

@donmckibben I am sorry to hear about your situation with your TKR. I encourage you to reach out to The Office of Patient Experience. Here is the link with the contact information (web form and telephone number): https://www.mayoclinic.org/about-mayo-clinic/patient-experience

Don’t give up - I read about one patient wit pain after knee replacement - she saw 8 doctors - nothing..... finally they discovered she had a fracture in her foot causing the knee to hurt.
