@sjd324 You are absolutely correct. It really is something that needs to be pushed out into the community. My wife was lucky when she woke up with her sudden hearing loss 2 years ago as I was at the Convention where I was surrounded by hearing specialists. Because we got her to my ENT immediately, she got the steroids and was hearing again a week later. It's a shame general practitioners don't have this info.

Your wife was one of the lucky ones. I lost my right ear to IHL 12 years ago. I realized something had happened within minutes and was in ER an hour later. I was treated by 2 Hearing Specialists in Kansas City with steroid injections. Two weeks later I was treated at Mayo Clinic, Rochester and have never had any hearing return to my right ear. Thank God I have a good left ear.

No one has any idea about sudden sensory hearing loss .I went to two regular doctors and by the time I got to an ENT it was to late for the steroids to do any good
