Is it IBS or Gastritis?
Hello all. I have had a hyda scan done as well as a scope months ago and they said I had a very small high hernia. Fast forward to two night ago while in bed I had a pencil stabbing like dull pain in left side below right pectoral/upper abdomen. It lasted the next day and was tender to the touch. The next night if moved to the left side breifly. Yesterday it started in left and then around stomach area. Comes and goes but is still there. Happens with movement and can feel if you push the area. Feels like a stabbing in that particular spot. My doctor seems to think all is well for now but wanted another opinion from maybe someone who has had similar or any recommendations. Thanks in advance guys.

Husband also put cinder blocks under the head of my bed and it helped. My doctor also put me on Omneprazole for 16 years which helped, but causes a lot of other problems. Now I am on Zantac.
What kind of problems did you have from omeprazole? I was on it for a long time & I stopped it bc I thought it might be causing the enzymes to elevate.
It seems to personally help me with burping but I am still having these sensations I feel are heart related but wonder if it’s just my stomach and esophagus?
My doctor feels it may have given me chronic pancreatitis. Studies have been done.
I have GERD and when I lay down my heart starts palping, weird
What kind of studies did they do on you?
They did studies on groups of people taking Omenprazole. Groups that didn't take the med, didn't have pancreatitits. The groups that did take the med, had a higher incidence of pancreatitis.
Didn't have any problems with it. Doctor just thought it may have given me pancreatitis with all the studies that were done.
It probably is a Hiatus Hernia, have your gall bladder check. I take Nexium and Bentil . Bentil for spasms in the stomach and colon. I wish you well.
Can members post their experiences with GERD, gastritis, and ibs in this thread? I feel it would be informative for myself and others to hear other people’s issues with this as well. Thanks guys.
