Is it IBS or Gastritis?
Hello all. I have had a hyda scan done as well as a scope months ago and they said I had a very small high hernia. Fast forward to two night ago while in bed I had a pencil stabbing like dull pain in left side below right pectoral/upper abdomen. It lasted the next day and was tender to the touch. The next night if moved to the left side breifly. Yesterday it started in left and then around stomach area. Comes and goes but is still there. Happens with movement and can feel if you push the area. Feels like a stabbing in that particular spot. My doctor seems to think all is well for now but wanted another opinion from maybe someone who has had similar or any recommendations. Thanks in advance guys.

Is the doc you saw a gastroenterologist? Since the symptoms continue, you should see a GI for a second opinion. Readers here may have had similar symptoms but they wouldn’t necessarily be related to the same condition as yours.
Yes. I saw one after my endoscopy and they said at that time they saw no major issues
I would see a GI also. My endoscopy showed gastritis only. A couple of weeks later I was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Blood work, CT scan and MRI showed it, along with an EUS which is an endoscopic ultra sound. My pain was also on the left side.
diverticulitis is also on left side usually.
I also have diverticulosis and when I have attacks, yes, they are on the left lower side.
What about possible gas feeling like a heart flutter and almost nonstop feeling of having to burp?
Acid Reflux?
New to you post. I know that my mothers doctor told her to raise the head side of the bed. My Dad cut 2 4x4’s placing one each under each bed foot. It helped and it was not noticeable to Dad. I slept at a friends house while visiting from out of town and she had a bed which had a hospital like bed remote that customized the sleeping positions one each side. It was a feature that I fell in love with. In your case you could raise the head and chest to a position that is comfortable even if for reasons that have nothing to do with hiatal hernia; meaning: if you can afford it you may like it non~the ~less.
I’ve been seeing commercials on tv a lot lately for a brand called “ Craftmatic “ and 2 selling points besides the obvious is that it costs less than years ago when people first purchased them and now the sleeping surface has many options including “ memory foam “ I’m not sure if sleeping on memory foam is a plus or minus for you. I don’t care for my rather expensive memory foam pillow that I got sold on. It is best used on my bed when watching TV
Yes reflux but I was wondering if anyone had palpitation your fluttering that turned out to be reflux instead ?
NO. I never heard of palpitations which turned out to be reflux. Usually reflux is just burning, burping.
