Do I have Pancreatitis?
Have had CT abdomen, it showed possible mild pancreatitis. MRI showed possible mild pancreatitis, EUS showed chronic pancreatitis. Amylase 34. Lipase 104, 149 and 69. No symptoms of pancreatitis. Have pancreatic divisium and been on Omneprazole for 16 years. Do I have pancretitis.?

Thank you for your reply . I just had a endoscopy done and he did biopsy’s and said they came back normal . I’ve had CT and different scans done of abdomen area and always comes back “ normal “ . They also always mention that I have abnormalities in my gallbladder , but I proceed to tell them I don’t have one . It’s hard to stay positive about all this because I’m never getting any answers .
Thank You , I will keep you posted if anything changes .
Have you got a second opinion? If you haven't gone to a good GI doctor find one. Something doesn't sound right. Pancreatitis is excess enzymes getting into your blood. CT and MRI can't measure that. However it can see if you have defects in the pancreas and bile ducts. But even if you have defects doesn't mean you have pancreatitis
This is my 3rd GI doctor in 1 year . The one I have currently seems to actually kinda of are to figure something out . But will do a test , have me wait for 3 weeks to see him for results then do another test wait 3 weeks for results . So I’m basically seeing him once a month for him to just say “looks fine , next .” They other 2 would just tell me “ oh I’m gong to say it’s probably IBS . Which I know it’s not . Something is wrong and it’s very frustrating being so malnutrition and dehydrated all the time .
He’s leaning towards me having Congenital Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency (CSID) . its a rare disorder that affects a person's ability to digest certain sugars due to absent or low levels of two digestive enzymes, sucrase and isomaltase. Sucrase and isomaltase are involved in the digestion of sugar and starch. Seems a little Far-fetched to me . Considering I’ve never had issues before . But then again I guess things can happen and change . But I will ask him about other tests and suggest other things . I’m a veterinarian technician for 8 years now and I’ve done and seen a lot of things . This would never happen in vet medicine , would not take this long to figure out what is wrong . If an animal came into my clinic with my like symptoms, we would lead towards liver or pancreatic issues .
I had a similar situation. Doctors kept telling me it was IBS. I finally found a doctor that figured things out. Keep with it, do your research, and you'll find the answer.
Have you tried taking digestive enzymes?
Yes I have . Since I competed in fitness . I would take things like that. Didn’t seem to help at all . Unfortunately
I was told by a doctor that if your pancreatic enzymes were not working, there is a problem with the pancreas
But if your pancreatic enzymes are elevated it will show in your blood work not a MRI or CT. I've had pancreatitis attacks where my lipase is through the roof and my CT scan appears normal. A MRI or other scan cannot measure your lipase or amylase.
