@mcmurf2

so had my Endo appt today and also my ultra sound for the nodule on the thyroid. Nodule is unchanged. now. Doc says 'Your labs are a mess'. so, she ordered more labs.. FINALLY testing for Graves. Will know the outcome next wed. She gave me 3 options. 1. go on a med that may take 18 months for final results and only has a 20% success rate. ( can't remember the name). 2. kill the thyroid with radio active iodine. ( 3 month results) 3. surgically remove thyroid. (instant results.). number one is out! I"ve suffered over a year already. Two will probably be the option as it is winter and not much to do anyway. I am already scheduled for rotator cuff surgery on Jan 8th soooooo... hum,,, no need for 2 surgeries huh?

I can only give my experience, but not an opinion on your thyroid. I was given no options, as they found the nodules on my thyroid while doing an ultrasound on my artery. I was told I had to have the surgery, which I did and now I live on Synthroid. During the surgery they damaged a vocal chord, which is common, as it is so close, and no voice specialist has been able to help me. I can no longer sing and sometimes my voice can barely do the job. But I keep talking anyway. I have had a sinus drainage ever since which has been maybe ten years and I sleep on two pillows and suck on a cough drop for relief. I cancelled my rotator cuff replacement in both shoulders because I can live with it at this level and I can't stand another surgery. My granddaughters will get my dishes down from the higher shelves.
I don't wash windows much. And I use a lot of IceyHot at night. I am sick of more meds that make me feel drugged. Dorisena
