Botox for urinary incontinence?
Has anyone had Botox for urinary incontinence, and if so were you happy with the results? I am considering it. I know there are risks, primarily getting a UTI following the injections, but that can quickly be cured, and also not being able to easily urinate and having to self-catheterize for a while.
I have been for Pelvic Floor PT, and currently take Trospium which I would like to get off of (I have read it's one of the drugs that increases the chance of developing Alzheimer's).
Any information anyone has would be appreciated.
Thank you.
JK

Thank you for discussing what is often an embarassing topic. I struggle with this, I've had a 9.5lb baby vaginally, and that area of my body has never been the same. A radio podcast came out today on this topic, i listened to it several times. I didn't know there were doctors that specialized in this area, perhaps i should talk to one, I hope this link works! https://mayocl.in/2LIsVIm
@Erinmfs This all is embarrassing. I also have some fecal incontinence which they say probably goes back to having ripped through my anal sphincter when my son was born. I had a substitute doctor, mine was on vacation, and I think he was incompetent. He was sued for another case and lost.
My son and daughter were 9 pounds, 2 ounces and 9 pounds, 4 ounces. My daughter was the larger and she was also shorter so chubbier. They ended up having to do a cesarean. My son had unusually broad shoulders for an infant so that was probably what caused the ripping. He should have been cesarean. The doctor said he couldn't do a cesarean because there was meconium, and I heard after that, that is crazy. I switched doctors after his birth just in case my doctor was away again when my daughter was born, and it turned out he was! They were both summer babies.
