Passing urine when I pass wind or pass a stool

Hello @lotsofpain! Never in my life did I think somebody else had this problem besides me! I have had a neurogenic bladder and bowel since I was a kid; have to catheterize myself and use whatever it takes to have a bowel movement. Also chronic UTI' s necessitating a daily antibiotic up until recently. As I got older (I am now 69), weird things began happening with my "lower anatomy". I began leaking urine, first a little, then a flood, when I pass wind and/or poop. Eventually it got painful when the urine was leaking. I have severe IBS and pass gas quite violently, then both urine and poop come out. I never heard of a urogynecologist, have to find one. My problem now is I pass gas through my urethra and vagina, and boy does that hurt. Urine usually comes out too. My cardiologist suggested I might have a fistula between my bladder, vagina and bowel. Maybe you also have this sort of problem. What kind of doctor would even believe what our problem is? Please let me know how it goes for you. Your cause is physical, believe me. Good luck and best wishes, Peggy

@peggy1944 Welcome to Connect. I would agree with your cardiologist about a possible fistula. Not sure which state your in, but Mayo Clinic does have Urogynecologists. But, wherever you are, just google the term and names will come up. Or your GYN doctor probably has names. Look one up. You’d rather not have to deal with bladder infections all the time! And bladder infections can be dangerous as we get older. (I’m 71!). Let us know what you learn, please! I’ll bet lots of women have a similar problem!
