If the ear drum is damaged it might be repaired. Also some people posted that they had ossicular chain reconstruction which repairs or replaces the 3 tiny bones in the middle ear that attach your ear drum to the inner ear.

If it were the ear drum or bones I don't think I would be hearing at all. The problem is I've lost the high frequencies. So much sounds different. I'm missing so much now. My brain is just rebelling against it. It's like, "No. It's can't be. Something should be there."

@judysmayo I had chain reconstruction surgery on both ears for conductive hearing loss, and then repeated with adjustments on each ear. It all failed. Don’t try it. The only thing that changed for me was adding tinnitus to my hearing loss. Other doctors have been astounded that this surgery was tried on me as it is apparently experimental. It changed the outcome on my hearing test slightly but just made it minimally better or minimally worse in different areas. I feel lucky I did’t have a worse outcome than the constant noise of tinnitus. Finally, after multiple doctors through the years, one audiologist suggested I try saline flushes, Nasocort and Zrytek to clear my eustachian tubes. I am hearing better as a result. It feels like the saline flushes possibly help the most. Be sure to inhale through your nose when administering.
